The County Commissioners are responsible for approving liquor license applications in the Unorganized Territories. All other applications are submitted to municipalities. An application fee of ten dollars ($10.00) must accompany the application. The check is made out to Piscataquis County. Update: UT Liquor License Application(s) Changed to Online Submittal Only

The State has changed the way liquor license applications will be submitted and reviewed. Starting October 28, 2024, the State of Maine will no longer accept paper applications for liquor licenses. All applicants will now be required to submit their applications through their new system, BELLS and you pay the State fee online. (https://alcohol.maine.gov) You will still be required to send your $10 fee to the County to go along with the Review/Approval email we receive from the State prior to the application being approved by the County Commissioners.
